Iris, Lilly, Daisy, and Sweet William

On our first day of outreach last weekend, we were driving to another address when we spotted a dog eating spaghetti on the side of the road. We noticed right away that she was a momma by her teats full of milk hanging down. We started looking around for where her pups might be. A few houses down we found four tiny fuzz balls hanging out on a front porch, we found them! We put some real food out for momma and knocked on the door at this house. No one answered after I knocked several times. They were obviously starving because they were fighting each other over the milk bones I was putting down for them. They had a little bowl of water, so I dumped the rest of the milk bones out for them. We decided to come back the next day.
The next day we went back and banged on the front door until someone finally answered. At first the woman said she wanted to keep all the puppies, one for each of her kids... We pointed out that the puppies were full of worms and were starving. She admitted she didn't have the money to provide them with proper care and after we talked for a while, we were able to get these puppies signed over to Jade's Mission. We are working on getting the momma spayed. She has run of the entire street and it won't be long before she has another litter. We tried to make contact with these people again yesterday to set up an appointment for the momma, but again, they didn't answer. We left our contact information, and if we don't hear from them, we will be going back.

These little babies were quite tired and lethargic for the first couple of days in foster care and they ate like crazy! Once they were de-wormed and vaccinated, they perked right up! These little ones were basically being starved from the large intestinal worm burden they had.
Now these cuties are full of life and love to run and play! Kendra has been an awesome foster mom and has shown these puppies so much love and attention. They are about 7 weeks old now and each one has their own personality! They are getting spayed and neutered next week and will be available for adoption then! The momma is a small terrier mix, she only weighs about 30lbs, we are not sure what kind of dog dad was. We are guessing they won't grow up to be any bigger than 35-40lbs. We have two black with white marking babies and two brindle babies. If you are interested in adopting one of these pups, please email us at jadesmission@yahoo.com and we will send you an adoption application. Our adoption fee is $150, which covers the cost of the spay or neuter and all the shots and deworming.

Sweet William, Iris, Daisy, and Lilly will make amazing dogs! Please help us spread the word and help us get these wonderful puppies adopted!
